Women's Tennis Dominates Rider On Senior Day

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara University women's tennis team defeated the Rider Broncs, 7-0, on Sunday to close out its regular season.
 
Match Summary
  • The Purple Eagles made quick work of the Broncs in doubles. The No. 3 team of Sharlee Deshmukh and Shannon Wong won 6-0, while Niagara's No. 1 (Stella Peisakhova/Andreea Peteu) and 2 (Ali Hutchinson/Chhinda Som) teams each posted 6-1 victories.
  • Niagara won all six singles matches in straight sets.
  • Peisakhova gave Niagara a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 win in No. 1 singles.
  • Peteu and Som won their respective matches in two and three singles to clinch the match for the Purple Eagles.
  • Deshmukh, Wong and Hutchinson all followed with wins to give the Purple Eagles their second straight 7-0 victory.
