Game Recap
- The Purple Eagles started strong, taking a quick lead in the first inning. With bases loaded, Maria Gabriele singled to score Kendall Watkins. Timm reached base on an error by the Bearcats' second baseman and Heather Haberman scored on an error by the catcher. Runs from Timm and Jerri Ann Orfano gave NU a 4-0 lead over Binghamton at the end of the first.
- Binghamton scored once in the third inning, but NU maintained control of the game. In the bottom of the third, Moody tripled to score Timm and Rachel Funk and give the Purple Eagles a 6-1 lead.
- Despite a solo homerun from the Bearcats in the seventh, Niagara held onto its lead and picked up the first win of its Florida road trip.
Inside the Numbers
- Timm led the Purple Eagles with two hits and also had one RBI.
- Moody had a team-high two RBIs and hit her first career triple.
- In the circle, Karsen Cotton (2-2) faced 27 batters, striking out one. Cotton threw a complete game and allowed only three hits.
