PITTSBURGH – Niagara netted a season-high 17 goals en route to defeating Duquesne, 17-14, on Sunday. The Purple Eagles improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2005 season.

Game Recap
- After falling behind 2-0, 35 seconds into the game, the Purple Eagles reeled off three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead. Hailey D'Hont scored Niagara's first goal on an assist from Samantha Brill. Then, Brill and D'Hont added free position goals
- The Dukes scored three straight goals to take a 6-4 lead with 13 minutes left in the first half. Goals from Alyssa Sproule and Caroline Crump tied the game at 6-6.
- Duquesne went back in front with a goal 10 seconds later for a 7-6 lead with 9:21 remaining.
- However, the Purple Eagles outscored the Dukes 4-0 in the final 8:26 of the first half.
- Alexis Morale provided back-to-back assists on goals to Crump and to Grace Hunt for an 8-7 lead.
- Ford scored her second of the season at the 3:52 mark and Crump added Niagara's 10 goal of the half with 2:16 on the clock.
- Niagara extended its lead to 12-7 six minutes into the second half.
- Crump gave the Purple Eagles their largest lead of the game, 15-9, with a goal at the 13:05 mark.
- Duquesne cut Niagara's lead to 16-13 with 2:30 remaining, before Crump netted her seventh goal of the game with 1:48 on the clock.
