NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's basketball earned its third straight win on Monday, defeating the Siena Saints, 65-50.

Game Recap
- The Saints jumped out to a 6-7 lead over the Purple Eagles early in the first quarter, but a bucket from Moore gave NU the lead, 8-7, with over five and a half minutes left in the quarter. Siena came back to take a 10-8 lead, but two free throws from Stroemple quickly tied up the score, 10-10. Two more points from Moore and Stroemple put NU in the lead, 14-12, at the end of the first quarter.
- Maggie McIntyre hit a three to open scoring in the second quarter and give the Purple Eagles a 17-12 lead. Stroemple then sank a 3-pointer with about eight minutes left in the quarter to put the score at 20-14. The Purple Eagles maintained their lead for the remainder of the quarter and were ahead 28-21 going into halftime.
- McIntyre made another 3-pointer with 6:48 left in the third quarter to put NU ahead 37-23 and Niagara led Siena, 45-35, going into the fourth quarter.
- Stroemple added six points in the fourth quarter and Moore and McIntyre each had a 3-point basket in the fourth to help the Purple Eagles to a 65-50 win over the Saints.

- "I'm really proud of the effort today from everyone," said head coach Jada Pierce. "This was definitely a great team win. Our defense is really coming along and we'll definitely need that this weekend playing two tough road games. I also want to give a special thanks to our staff and team for the excellent performance they had on Saturday in my absence to beat Manhattan."
Inside the Numbers
- Stroemple led the Purple Eagles with 20 points, tying her season-high. She also added six rebounds and four assists.
- Moore added 15 points, tying her career-high, Victoria Rampado had 14 points and McIntyre 13.
- Rampado led the team in rebounding with nine rebounds.
- Jamie Sherburne had a team-high nine assists for the Purple Eagles.
- The Purple Eagles improved to 4-2 in MAAC play, which is their best MAAC start since the 2004-05 season when they won their first six conference games.
