Women's Basketball Hosts Siena For MLK Day Matchup

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles host the Siena Saints on Monday, Jan. 15 at 2:00 p.m. for their Pack the House game. All tickets will be $1.00 and the game will be broadcast locally on LCTV.

Last Time Out
  • Two last-second foul shots from Victoria Rampado iced the Purple Eagles' 65-64 win over Manhattan on Jan. 13.
  • Rampado led the team with 19 points and she and Kaylee Stroemple each had a team-high six rebounds.
  • Jai Moore added 14 points for NU, Maggie McIntyre had 12 and Stroemple added 10.
  • McIntyre sank four 3-pointers in the game to tie her career-high for threes made in a single game.
 
Niagara In The MAAC
  • Niagara leads the MAAC in free throw percentage (78.0%), is second in field goal percentage (40.8%) and is the third-highest scoring offense (65.5 points per game).
  • Victoria Rampado leads the league in scoring with 21.3 points per game and is second in rebounding with 9.8 rebounds per game. She has the second-best field goal percentage (47.9%).
  • Jamie Sherburne leads the league in assists, averaging 4.6 assists per game. She is second in the conference in free throw percentage (86.0%).
  • Maggie McIntyre leads the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage (48.0%). 
 
Making History
  • Victoria Rampado's 41 points against Siena on Jan. 7 are the second-most points scored in a single game in NU women's basketball history and is tied for seventh-most in MAAC history. It is the most points scored in the MAAC this season.
  • Rampado made 17 of 23 field goals, which is the most field goals made in a single game in Niagara women's basketball history and the fourth-most in MAAC history.
 
Third Time's A Charm
  • Victoria Rampado was named MAAC Player of the Week for the third time this season on Jan. 8 after a stellar week against Fairfield, Quinnipiac and Siena.
  • Rampado recorded double-doubles in all three games. On the week, she averaged 23.5 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per game.

On The Court
Siena Saints (7-9, 2-3 MAAC)
  • Guard Kollyns Scarbrough leads the Saints in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.3 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. She is second in the MAAC in scoring and fifth in rebounding. Scarbrough has the best field goal percentage (52.6%) in the conference.
  • Forward Maddie Sims is second in scoring, averaging 9.3 points per game for Siena.
  • The Saints lead the league in offensive rebounding, averaging 13.6 offensive boards per game.
  • Siena is second in the MAAC in steals with 9.6 steals per game.
  • The Saints are fourth in the MAAC in scoring, averaging 63.9 points per game, and in overall field goal percentage (39.0%).
