Game Recap
- The Purple Eagles went on an 8-0 run, which included four points from Moore and a 3-pointer from Maggie McIntyre, to open the first quarter. The Jaspers, however, quickly caught up and the score was tied, 16-16, at the end of the first.
- The Jaspers took an 18-16 lead to open the second quarter, but a basket from Kaylee Stroemple tied things up once again, 18-18. Manhattan jumped ahead, taking a 21-18 lead, but Jamie Sherburne sank a three to put NU down by only one point, 21-20, with five and a half minutes left in the quarter. Manhattan led, 28-26, going into halftime.
- McIntyre opened scoring for the Purple Eagles in the third quarter, hitting her second three of the game to put Niagara down by only two points, 31-29. With a little under seven minutes left in the quarter, McIntyre hit another 3-pointer to tie the score, 35-35. Stroemple added five points and Moore added four points in the remainder of the quarter, but the Purple Eagles trailed the Jaspers, 52-44, going into the final 10 minutes of play.
- The Purple Eagles began to pick up steam in the fourth quarter, taking advantage of Manhattan's weak spots on defense. Rampado scored 10 points in the first five and half minutes of the quarter and the Purple Eagles trailed by only three points, 59-56, with over four minutes to play. Moore made a bucket to put the score at 61-68 and McIntyre hit her fourth three of the game with 1:25 remaining to tie up the score, 61-61. Two points from Stroemple with less than a minute left put Niagara down by only one point, 64-63. With 0.4 seconds left in the game, Rampado was fouled while attempting a 3-point shot, earning three foul shots. Rampado missed the first, but sank the second two to cement Niagara's 65-64 win.
Inside the Numbers
- Rampado led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 19 points. Rampado and Stroemple each had a team-high six rebounds.
- Moore added 14 points for NU, McIntyre had 12 and Stroemple added 10.
- Stroemple led the team in assists with four and in steals with three.
- McIntyre sank four 3-pointers, which ties her career-high for threes in a single game.
