Bicknell Caps Comeback Win For Women's Soccer At Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Niagara women's soccer team found itself trailing early in Friday night's road matchup against the Robert Morris Colonials. After giving up the game's first goal in the fifth minute, goalkeeper Shania van Nuland kept a clean sheet the remainder of the game, Bayley Sullivan headed in the tying goal in the 65th minute, and Hailey Bicknell netted the game-winner in the 83rd minute with an assist from Kelsey Lafferty.

The win extended Niagara's unbeaten streak to three games, following last Friday's 2-0 win versus St. Bonaventure and Monday's 2-2 draw at Binghamton.

Coach's Corner
  • Head coach Peter Veltri: "I thought we started the game off well, but unfortunately we gave up a cheap goal early. We showed great character in staying relaxed and finding a way to break them down late. We had a lot of players step up and contribute for this win."
