NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles begin a three-game road trip at Binghamton on Monday, Aug. 28. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles (1-1-0)
- The Purple Eagled picked up their first win of the season on Friday, Aug. 25 when they defeated St. Bonaventure, 2-0, in their 2017 home opener.
- Eva Bachmann, assisted by Hailey Bicknell, had one of the goals for NU and freshman Bayley Sullivan had the other.
- Kelsey Araujo leads Niagara this season with 10 shots and five shots on goal.
- Goalkeepers Shania van Nuland (1-0-0) and Sabrina Locas (0-1-0) have each recorded four saves. Van Nuland has one shutout.
Last Meeting with Binghamton
- The Purple Eagles and the Bearcats last met on Aug. 21, 2016 at Niagara University. Binghamton defeated Niagara, 1-0.
On the Field: Binghamton Bearcats (3-0-0)
- Forwards Kayla Saager and Ryan Reilly lead the Bearcats with two goals each. Saager also has a team-high three assists on the season so far.
- Goalkeeper Katie Hatziyianis (3-0-0) has recorded 13 saves and allowed three goals in 270 minutes played.
- In their first game of the season, Binghamton defeated St. Bonaventure, 2-1. The Bearcats also defeated Manhattan and Cleveland State, both teams Niagara will face later this season, 2-1.
