Scene Setter
• Niagara will play its third game of the season, and second against an Atlantic-10 opponent, when it plays UMass on Sunday.
• The Purple Eagles halted a six-game losing streak to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, who were picked second in the A-10 Preseason Poll, in their season opener on Nov. 10.
• The Purple Eagles trailed No. 14/15 Minnesota by only two points with 9:30 remaining before the Golden Gophers pulled away.
• Niagara is looking to improve to 2-1 for the first time since the 2009-10 season.

Tipoff Tidbits
• The Purple Eagles have connected on 19 3-pointers, which are tied for first in the MAAC, and their .396 three-point field goal percentage is second in the league.Â
Kahlil Dukes leads the MAAC in scoring with 24.5 points per contest. Dukes is averaging 5.5 3-pointers per game, which leads the conference and is second in the NCAA.
Marvin Prochet is averaging a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds per game. He is tied for the conference lead in rebounds.
• Matt Scott is 30th on the career scoring (1,207) list at Niagara. He is eight points away from tying Anthony Nelson ('11) for 29th.

Barclays Center Classic
• Niagara is participating in the sixth Barclays Center Classic. The Purple Eagles will play at UMass (Nov. 19) and at BYU (Nov. 21) as part of the opening round.
• The Purple Eagles will host the campus site portion of the tournament from Nov. 24-25. • Niagara will play Alabama A&M on Friday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m., followed by Western Carolina versus UT Arlington. On Nov. 25, the consolation and championship games will be played.

UMass Minutemen (1-1, 0-0 Atlantic-10)
• UMass is led by first-year head coach Matt McCall, who spent the two previous seasons as head coach of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
• UMass opened its season with a victory over UMass-Lowell (Nov. 10) before falling in overtime to Harvard (Nov. 12).
• Three starters are averaging double-figures in scoring - sophomore guard Luwane Pipkins (17.0 ppg), junior center Rashaan Holloway (13.5 ppg) and senior guard C.J. Anderson (10.5 ppg).
• The Minutemen were picked 12th in the 14-team A-10 Preseason Poll.

Against the Minutemen (UMass leads 6-1)
• This will be the eighth all-time meeting between Niagara and UMass and the first since the 1998-99 season.
• Niagara trails in the series with its lone win coming on January 22 1976 when the Purple Eagles won 81-77 at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.                   Â
