NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y.- In an exhibition game to help with hurricane relief efforts, the Niagara University men's basketball team was edged by the Robert Morris Colonials, 73-70, on Friday night at the Gallagher Center. All net proceeds from tonight's game will be donated to United Way Greater Niagara, who will then distribute to their agencies in the affected regions of Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico.
Game Summary
The Purple Eagles started the game on a 9-2 run, capped by a
Kahlil Dukes three-pointer. The Colonials took their first lead of the game at the 10-minute mark in the half and led 29-24 with six minutes left when NU went on an 8-0 run. The lead changed five more times as RMU went into halftime leading 42-39.
Niagara started the second half on a 13-2 run, with
Matt Scott and
Dominic Robb combining for 12 of the 13 points in that stretch. From the 13 minute-mark to two minutes remaining, neither team led by more than two points with nine ties and five lead changes.
Robert Morris broke a 63-63 tie with 2:54 left with a 6-0 run and closed out the game at the free-throw line.
