Niagara University, N.Y – Recent Niagara University basketball alums Maurice Taylor, Jr. and Ali Tew have been signed to professional basketball teams for the upcoming season.
Taylor Jr. has signed to play for the Western New York Thundersnow, who are the newest addition to the American Basketball Association (ABA), entering the league in 2016 and playing in the northeast division. Taylor Jr. averaged 2.6 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game in 62 games for Niagara in two seasons.
Tew, a native of Paris, France, has joined the Basket-club Boncourt in Boncourt, Switzerland. BC Boncourt is a team in the Ligue National de Basketball and recent achievements include reaching the Swiss Cup semifinals in 2016 and 2013. Tew played in 52 games, starting in five, for the Purple Eagles while averaging 1.4 points per game and 1.6 rebounds per game.
