JERSEY CITY, N.J. –
Marvin Prochet led Niagara with 19 points and with eight rebounds as the Purple Eagles fell to the Saint Peter's Peacocks, 72-59, on Friday night.
Prochet tied a career-high with 19 points on 6 of 13 shooting from the field and connected on a career-best 3 of 4 three-pointers.
Matt Scott scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half and had seven rebounds, while
Emile Blackman had 14 points with 11 coming in the second frame.
Saint Peter's (10-14, 8-6 MAAC) took control of the game with a 13-3 run to build a 19-9 lead with 8:36 remaining in the first half. Prochet brought NU (6-20, 4-11 MAAC) back into the game with nine straight points to trim the lead to 23-19 with 5:26 left in the half. However, the Peacocks answered with a 6-0 run on their way to a 38-25 halftime lead. The Peacocks maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
