Women’s Soccer Hosts Akron Friday

The Purple Eagles return to the pitch on Friday to host the Akron Zips at 7 p.m.

Valiant In Defeat
  • Niagara opened the season with a narrow 2-0 defeat to the Michigan State Spartans on August 21 at Niagara Field.
  • The match was scoreless until MSU scored two goals in three minutes early in the second half.
  • Three Purple Eagles had three players registered shots on goal including Amelia Gulley whose 6th minute volley nearly put Niagara ahead.  
  • It was the first-ever meeting between the programs.

  • Since opening the new Niagara Field for the 2008 season, the Purple Eagles are 35-22-5 in home matches
  • Last season, NU set a program record with a 9-1-1 home mark, including going 6-0-0 in MAAC matches
