Volleyball Heads To Connecticut To Face Quinnipiac, Fairfield

The Purple Eagles (9-13, 6-6 MAAC) continue a five-match road slate that started with a victory over Canisius on Wednesday. The team heads to Connecticut to take on Quinnipiac on Halloween day and Fairfield on Sunday in search of a season sweep of both teams.

Last Time Out
·         Niagara went over the bridge to face rival Canisius Wednesday, after losing the first set (23-25) Niagara took the last three (25-21, 25-17, 25-20)  to earn the victory, sweeping the regular season series.
·         Melissa McGwin lead the team with a career-high in kills (20), blocks (5) and aces with one.
·         The Purple Eagles out attacked the Golden Griff's 151-128.
·         Rylee Hunt had 26 digs in the match, building on her lead in the MAAC.

Purple Points
·         Rylee Hunt averages 5.09 digs per set, which is first in the MAAC and ranks her 23rd nationally
·         Alexis Gray averages 0.45 service aces per set, which is fourth best in the MAAC and ranks her 18th nationally.
·         Niagara as a team ranks third in the MAAC with an aces per set average of 1.60, behind Marist (1.94) and Manhattan (2.09)
 
Record Watch:
·         McGwin is currently fourth all-time in solo blocks at 73 for her career, she is 7 behind Jessica Anderson ('92-'95) for third place.
·         McGwin also has 170 block assists for her career, currently fifth best.
·         Alexis Gray has 39 services aces on the season, which ties her for 10th in the single season record book.

Across The Net: Quinnipiac Bobcats (3-21, 1-11 MAAC) 
·         Niagara is 7-0 all-time against Quinnipiac, including a 3-0 match win back on September 20th.
·         The Bobcats are second in the MAAC with a 2.12 block per set average.
·         Elizabeth Kloos has 87 total blocks on the year, the mark good enough for third in the MAAC.

Across The Net: Fairfield Stags (11-9, 6-4 MAAC) 
·         Fairfield is 4-1 in its last five matches, beating Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Manhattan and Marist.
·         Niagara is 10-29 all-time against the Stags, including a 3-2 match win back on September 19th.
·         The Bobcats are first in the MAAC in assist per set (12.39) and blocks per set (2.13).
·         Skyler Day is third in the MAAC in points per set (3.99) and kills per set (3.54)
·         Leaders: kills per set –Skyler Day (3.54), assists per set – Sydney Buckley (5.96), blocks per set – Megan O'Sullivan (0.97)
