Live VideoThe Niagara Purple Eagles (8-6-2, 6-3-0 MAAC) hit the road to take on the Marist Red Foxes (6-10-2, 5-3-1 MAAC) in the regular-season finale on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. While both teams have clinched a berth in the MAAC Championship Tournament, which automatically sends the winner to the NCAA Tournament, Niagara has a chance to leapfrog from fourth to second in the tournament seeding and earn a first-round bye.
Last Time OutUp for Grabs- Monmouth has won the MAAC outright and completed its schedule with 27 points on the season. With one game to play, Rider sits second with 19 points, Manhattan sits third with 18 points and Niagara sits fourth with 18 points after losing the head-to-head matchup with Manhattan.
- The Purple Eagles can finish as high as second or as low as fifth.
- To finish in second place and earn a first-round tournament bye, Niagara would need to leapfrog Rider. In order to leapfrog Rider, Niagara would need a victory, a Rider loss and a Manhattan tie or loss.
- To leapfrog Manhattan for the No. 3 seed, Niagara would need to pair a win with a Manhattan tie or loss or an NU tie with a Jasper loss
- To stay locked in as a top-four seed and host a MAAC tournament game at Monteagle Ridge, Niagara must gather any result but a loss this Wednesday
