Following a bye week to assess the team's performance on opening weekend and improve on their shortcomings, the Purple Eagles hockey team opens its Atlantic Hockey schedule on home ice. The Robert Morris Colonials, voted first place in the Atlantic Hockey Preseason Coaches' Poll, provide a formidable test for Niagara. The Purple Eagles and Colonials face off at 7:00 p.m. on both Fri. Oct. 23 and Sat. Oct. 24.

Both Friday's and Saturday's games can be heard live on 1340 AM WLVL and watched on Eversport. Additionally, Saturday's game will be broadcast on LCTV.

  • Zac Lynch, the Colonials' leading returning scorer for 2015-16, leads the team to start the season with two goals and two assists in two games.
  • Junior goaltender Dalton Izyk led Robert Morris to the 5-1 win over Air Force, and he enters the weekend leading Atlantic Hockey in goals-against average (1.00) and save percentage (.976).
