Saturday: Live Stats | Live VIdeo | Live Audio

The Niagara Purple Eagles head out for their first weekend road trip of the season this weekend with a pair of games against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with Saturday's game being broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.

Where To Catch The Game
  • Before we get down to business, here's a quick guide on where to catch all of the weekend's action.
  • There will be a radio broadcast on WLVL 1340 AM with Jeremy White on play-by-play.
  • Friday's game will be streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra on NBCSports.com. It will be available on almost any devide you could possibly want to watch a hockey game on.
  • Saturday's game will be televised live on NBCSN with Dave Strader on play-by-play and Anson Carter "Inside The Glass". NBCSN can be found on the following digital cable and satellite television carriers: Dish Network – 159 (HD/SD); Verizon FIOS – 590 (HD), 90 SD; DirecTV – 220 (HD/SD); AT&T U-verse – 1640 (HD), 640 (SD); Time Warner Cable (WNY) – (314) HD, 48 (SD).

We Meet Again...Finally
  • This weekend's series will be the second and third meetings between the Niagara Purple Eagles and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The only time they've gone head-to-head was on October 14, 2000 when they played to a 3-3 tie.
  • Niagara did travel to Chicago in January 2009 to take part in the Shillelagh Tournament, but never played against Notre Dame. The Purple Eagles dropped the opening game 3-1 to North Dakota before getting over on Colgate 5-1 for a third-place finish.

History 101
  • As mentioned above, there has only been one other matchup between these two teams.
  • As an interesting-ish side note, NU has a 6-5-1 record against teams it has only met once. Actually, that's not that interesting. Sorry.

Against The Hockey East
  • While the Purple Eagles may have only one game against the Fighting Irish under their belts, they do have quite a bit of experience against teams in the current Hockey East as Friday's game will be the 50th matchup against a Hockey East School for NU.
  • So far, NU has a record of 16-30-2

The Century Club
  • A pair of Purple Eagles are closing in on their 100th game played.
  • Senior center Chris Lochner and senior defenseman Kevin Albers both head into the weekend at 96 games played in their careers.
  • Had injuries not kept them on the sidelines early this season, Saturday would have been the 100th game for both of them.

I-G-G-Y
  • Adrian Ignagni turned in a career-performance against Robert Morris on Oct. 17 when he turned away 42 Colonial shots in a 5-2 loss.
  • He topped his previous best of 40 saves he made in a 5-1 win over RIT on Jan. 24, 2014.

National TV
  • This will be the second time in two seasons that the Purple Eagles will be featured on a National Television broadcast. Last season they topped AHA-rival RIT 3-0 on the CBS Sports Network.
  • Current Purple Eagles Isaac Kohls and TJ Sarcona both scored in that game.

Posts For Points
  • Freshman defenseman Lawrence Smith collected his first collegiate point when he earned the primary assist on Hugo Turcotte's power play goal on Oct. 18. He beat the goaltender with a clapper from the point, but rang it off of the crossbar and the rebound found an open Turcotte, who did not miss.
