Volleyball Hosts Battle Of The Bridge Contest Wednesday

The Niagara Purple Eagles, who have won four of their last six matches, will look for the season sweep of archrival Canisius on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

  • The Purple Eagles (8-12, 4-5 MAAC) fell to Fairfield in four sets in their most recent match.
  • Freshmen Nicole Matheis and Alexis Gray each recorded their seventh double-double of the season with Matheis notching 11 kills and 14 digs while Gray chipped in 13 assists and a team-high 43 digs
  • Niagara had 75 digs in the match for the most in a four-set match this season.
  • Niagara has already doubled its win total from a season ago (8)
  • Niagara is 1-1 on its five-match home stand. The Purple Eagles will host Iona and Manhattan this weekend.
