Volleyball Swept At Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Niagara volleyball team began its final road trip of the season by falling to the Marist Red Foxes, 25-15, 25-16, 25-21, on Saturday.

After falling in a competitive first set, Niagara (3-23, 2-13 MAAC) was unable to keep pace with co-MAAC leader Marist (17-8, 11-4 MAAC).  The score was tied at 7-7 in the opening set when the Red Foxes broke open the set with a 14-4 run en route to winning the set 25-15. The Purple Eagles played from behind in the second and third sets. NU went on a 6-0 run to cut Marist's lead to 18-16 in the third set, which was the close Niagara would get.

Logan Rae recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 22 assists and 10 digs. Melissa McGwin was the only Purple Eagle in double-digit kills with 10.

Niagara finishes its road schedule  against Siena on Sunday at 1 p.m.
