NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara volleyball team ended its 2013 campaign on a high note with a 25-16, 20-25, 25-18, 25-14, victory over the Quinnpiac Bobcats on Sunday.

Vilis Ozols said. "There were a lot of momentum shifts and the players did a great job taking charge after the second set loss."
Niagara (4-25, 3-15 MAAC) improves to 4-0 all-time against Quinnipiac (5-26, 3-15 MAAC), including sweeping the season series this year. The Purple Eagles sprinted away from the Bobcats in the opening set. Leading 6-5, a kill byÂ
Alex Stone spearheaded a 14-5 spurt as Niagara won the first set, 25-16. Quinnipiac evened the match at 1-1 on the en suing set. The Bobcats led 9-3 after 12 points in the second set and never looked back.

Logan Rae sparked a 7-1 run. After the Bobcats cut the lead to 20-18, NU responded by scoring the final five points in the set. Niagara led the fourth set from start to finish. The Purple Eagles led as much as 11 (20-11) en route to picking up its first home win of the season.Â

Chelsea Watson had 11 kills. Rae recorded her fifth double-double of her career with a match-high 38 assists and 12 digs. McGwin led the match with seven total blocks to finish the season with 123 total blocks, which are the most by a Purple Eagle since Jessica Anderson had 139 in 1995.
"I thought Chelsea, Melissa and Amanda had great offensive matches," Ozols said. "The blocking output by Melisa has been great all season and we are very excited to have her for the next few seasons."
