Volleyball Concludes Season This Weekend

The Niagara volleyball program will wrap up its 2013 season with matches against Fairfield and Quinnipiac this weekend at the Gallagher Center.

The Purple Eagles (3-24, 2-14 MAAC) remain in search of their first home win of the season as they have two chances this weekend. NU fell to Fairfield in four sets, despite winning the first set, in the first meeting this season. Niagara defeated Quinnipiac in straight sets to earn its first conference win of the season on Oct. 12.

McGwin Ranks In Top-10 In Single-Season Blocks List
· Melissa McGwin has moved herself in the top-10 in total blocks and block assists for a season.
· The redshirt sophomore has 111 total blocks and 81 blocks assists in her first year at Niagara
· She ranks eighth all-time blocks and eighth in block assists for a season, and currently has the most total blocks since Karen Simpson in 2005 (121).

Chasing 500
· Amanda Sedore is 42 kills away from 500 kills in her career.
· She currently leads the team and is sixth in the conference with 2.92 kills per set

· Fairfield is 9-1 in its last 10 matches.
· Leaders: kills per set – Marilyn Peizer – 3.11, assist per set- Rachel Romansky – 9.25, digs per set – Carsen Mata – 4.07, blocks per set – Maddie Fitzpatrick – 0.93.
· Niagara has lost the last four meetings, including last season's MAAC Tournament semifinals match.
 
Across the Net: Quinnipiac Bobcats (5-24, 3-13 MAAC)
· Quinnipiac is 1-3 in its last four matches.
· Leaders: kills per set – Allison Leigh – 2.02, assist per set – Emma Ogden – 7.66, digs per set – Logan Riker – 3.71, blocks per set – Allison Leigh – 1.24.
· The Purples Eagles are 3-0 all-time against the Bobcats, including beating them in the first meeting this season.
