Purple Eagles Travel to Face Saint Peter’s

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's soccer team head to Jersey City, N.J. for the weekend when it travels to face Saint Peter's on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.

Purple Eagles 101
After the team's win over Canisius, Niagara improved to 3-9-0 overall, and helped even the squad's MAAC record to 2-2-0. 

Overall, Breanna Catipovic leads the squad with 12 points off six goals, two shy of her career-high.    Catherine Meyer (one goal, four assists) and Haillie Price (two goals, one goal) follow Catipovic in the offensive end.  

In net, sophomore Claire Feiertag has accumulated a .773 save percentage to go along with her 1.56 goals-against average.  She has also registered one shutout on the season.

Last Time Out
Niagara dropped Canisius, 1-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 2.  Senior Danielle Kennedy got the Purple Eagles on the board in the 27th minute of play, scoring her first goal of the season.  Feiertag stopped seven Griff shots for her first shutout of the season.

Scouting Saint Peter's
The Peacocks are coming off a 1-0 loss to Iona on Wednesday, Oct. 2, extending their losing streak to four games.  The team currently holds a 2-8 overall record, and is winless in conference play, 0-4.

On the season overall, Ashley Drozd leads the team with three goals and an assist, followed by Greta Vogel's four points (two goals), and Nicole Tafrow's three points (one goal, one assist). 

Molly O'Hallora has accumulated a .634 save percentage to go along with a 2.60 goals-against average on the year.

All-Time vs. the Peacocks
Saturday's game will be the 21st time the two sides face each other, as Niagara leads the all-time series with a 14-6-0 mark.  In their last meeting on Oct. 14, 2012 the Purple Eagles came away with a 7-0 win over the Peacocks.  Catipovic found the back of the net three times to lead the team.

Following this weekend's game, the Purple Eagles will return home to host Siena College on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m.
