The Niagara Purple Eagles begin their three-match homestand against archrival Canisius on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.
First MAAC Win
• Niagara picked up its first conference win last Saturday with a sweep of Quinnipiac.
• Niagara had a season-high .242 hitting percentage while its 11 blocks are the second most this season.
McGwin's Strong Weekend

Melissa McGwin led Niagara in kills, hitting percentage, blocks and points as the Purple Eagles went 1-1 last weekend. On the weekend, McGwin had 3.43 kills per set, a .458 hitting percentage and eight total blocks.
• Against Quinnipiac on Saturday, McGwin had match-highs in kills (11), hitting percentage (.667) and points (15.5) to help Niagara sweep of the Bobcats.
• The next day, McGwin led NU with 13 kills for her second straight double-digit kills match versus Fairfield. The Rochester, N.Y. native had a match-best hitting percentage of .364, on a minimum of 10 kills, which is third highest this season.
Win Streak Snapped
• NU had its nine-match win streak in the series with Canisius come to an end in the first meeting on Oct. 2.
• The win streak was NU's longest in the series
• The Purple Eagles nearly erased deficits in the first and second sets in the first meeting.
