The Niagara Purple Eagles will cross the Grand Island Bridges to play rival Canisius in a midweek conference clash on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Niagara (1-14, 0-4 MAAC) remains in search of its first conference win of the season. The Purple Eagles' opened their home schedule last weekend by falling to first place Siena and Marist in straight sets.

NU Leaders
• Amanda Sedore leads the team in kills per set with 2.64 while freshman Alex Stone leads in hitting percentage.
• Emily Hopkins, another freshman, is the leader in assists with  6.78 per set.
• Melissa McGwin is fourth in the conference in blocks per set with 1.06. McGwin is on pace for the most blocks in a season by a Purple Eagle since Karen Simpson in 2005 who had 121 (1.27 per set).

Nine Straight
• Niagara has won nine straight against Canisius for its longest win streak in the series.
• The Purple Eagles have swept the regular season series the last four seasons while also defeating Canisius in the 2011 MAAC Tournament semifinals
