POUGHKEEPSI, N.Y.  – The Niagara volleyball team used a season-high hitting percentage to bounce back from its conference opening setback on Saturday with an emphatic sweep (25-15, 25-19,25-10) over the Marist Red Foxes on Sunday.

NU (4-7, 1-1 MAAC) snapped its five-match skid with extending its winning streak against Marist (4-8, 0-2 MAAC) to eight matches.

The Purple Eagles had their most proficient attacking match of the season with a season-best .391 hitting clip, including hitting .480 in the first and third sets.
Kari Honomichl’s match-high 20 kills and .543 hitting percentage were season-highs for a Purple Eagle this season.

In the opening set, NU scored 19 of the last 28 points to take the set.  Niagara finished the second set in similar fashion and sped away from the Red Foxes in the third set.
