Women's Soccer Gears Up For Homestand

After a thrilling overtime victory in its previous game, the Niagara women's soccer team (1-3-0) is headed home to open up its home schedule. The Purple Eagles will host IPFW (1-2) on Friday night and Temple (2-2) on Sunday morning.

Niagara came from behind to defeat Bowling Green on Sept. 4, scoring two unanswered goals, including the game-winning goal off of a corner kick by Laura Kimoto, for the 2-1 victory. Courtney Pierce scored the other goal for the Purple Eagles.

Niagara is 6-2-1 in home-opening games since the 2002 season, a mark that the Purple Eagles will look to improve on against IPFW at 7 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Eagles are 1-0-1 all-time against the Mastodons, dating back to the 2002 season.

The Purple Eagles are 4-1-1 against Temple, dating back to the 2000 season. Niagara defeated the Owls by a 2-1 margin during the 2010 season and will look to be victorious again on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Following this weekend's games, Niagara will host the Big Four Classic on Sept. 16 and 18.
