LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Niagara women's basketball team was defeated by the Siena Saints, 57-35, on Sunday afternoon.
Niagara (1-22, 0-12) trailed only 23-17 in the first half and outshot Siena (9-13, 7-5 MAAC) 42.9 percent to 26.9 in the half. However, the Purple Eagles opened the second half with an offensive drought. The Saints went on a 13-4 run to start the second frame and eventually pulled away for the win.
Sophomore Jessica Flamm scored seven points to lead NU in scoring for the second straight game.
Niagara returns home to face archrival Canisius on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. to start "Keep the Cup" Week. The game will also be Niagara's "Pink Zone" game.
