Niagara wraps up the 2011 portion of its home schedule with cross-town rival Canisius. The contest against Canisius on Nov. 15 marks the earliest finish to the first-half of home contests for the season for Niagara, as it will not play at home until Jan. 13.

Modern Recycling Food Drive
Since Nov. 3rd, Modern Recycling has been running a food drive in conjunction with Niagara Athletics.   Bins will be located in Dwyer Arena for fans to drop off non-perishable food items. All donations will be given to the Heart, Love and Soul Kitchen in Niagara Falls.

Fans who bring two non-perishable food items to Dwyer Arena on Tuesday are eligible for a five-dollar ticket. Tickets are still available, by calling the Niagara Ticket Office at 716-286-TIXX or by emailing Tickets@PurpleEagles.com.

How To Catch The Game
Niagara's game against Canisius will be broadcast on the America One Network. Fans can also listen to the game by tuning into WJJL 1440 AM. Links are at the top of the page.


Battle Of The Bridge
Since the 2006-07 season, Niagara and Canisius have upped their rivalry by introducing the Battle of the Bridge series. Each contest between the rival schools would count for points, with the winner taking home the Canal Cup for a year. In the 2011-12 standings, Niagara leads Canisius by a 6-4 margin.

Scouting The Golden Griffins
The Canisius Golden Griffins are 2-5-1 on the young season, with a 2-1-1 AHA record. The Golden Griffins are led by Kyle Gibbons (3-3-6) and Preston Shupe (2-2-4), along with Taylor Law (2-1-3).

Dan Morrison will likely earn the nod to play between the pipes, earning a 1-3-0 record with a 3.03 goals-against average and an .908 save percentage.

Niagara is 7-4-1 in its last 12 games against the Golden Griffins.  

Tight Games
Five out of Niagara’s last six games have been decided by a goal or less. The Purple Eagles played RIT to a scoreless tie, lost to Air Force in overtime, 3-2, played nationally-ranked Union to a 3-3 tie and played Colgate to a 7-6 overtime loss and a 2-1 victory. Niagara also played Holy Cross to a 4-3 loss after defeating them 4-2 the night prior.

Versus Canisius In November
Niagara is 2-0-0 all-time against the Golden Griffins in games played in November. The Purple Eagles defeated Canisius by a 5-2 score on Nov. 11, 2008 at Dwyer Arena and by a 6-5 score in overtime on Nov. 2, 2010 on the road.
