SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Niagara women's golf team fell to Albany on Saturday afternoon at Drumlins Golf Course by a final score of 349-380. Niagara's score of 380 is the lowest daily team score for the Purple Eagles, a team in just its second year of existence.
Brittany Siechen was the top finisher of the match with a year-low score of 83, while Kelly Muszak notched a 96 in her first collegiate match and Megan Bruso recorded a career-low 98. Also scoring for Niagara was Ali Ince, scoring a 103 in her first collegiate match, along with Alex Novak who also scored a 103. Ona Peck rounded out scoring for the Purple Eagles with a 114.
"We hung tough with Albany today," Niagara women's golf head coach Steve Latimer said. "We keep improving, especially Megan. She is beginning to realize her golf potential. Her ball striking and putting have improved greatly from last season."
The Purple Eagles are back in action on Sept. 18-19 at the Dartmouth Invitational.
