Women's Golf Wraps Up Day One of the MAAC Championships

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. — Niagara finished ninth in the opening round of the 2026 MAAC Women's Golf Championship on Tuesday, posting a team score of 340 (+52) at Walt Disney World's Magnolia course.

The Purple Eagles trailed first-place Quinnipiac by 41 strokes after 18 holes on the par-72, 5,854-yard layout.

Sierra Ashbaugh was Niagara's top performer, carding an 80 (+8) to finish in a tie for 27th in the individual standings. Mikayla Lacey followed at 82 (+10), tying for 32nd. Kaylin Kline shot 88 (+16) to place 46th, while Morgan Bauza finished 47th with a 90 (+18). Amber Nemis rounded out Niagara's scorers with a 91 (+19), placing 48th.

Quinnipiac leads the team standings at 299 (+11), followed by Fairfield at 301 (+13) and UAlbany at 306 (+18). UAlbany's Thantita Aungsuseewong holds the individual lead after firing an even-par 72.

Niagara trails eighth-place Siena by 18 strokes heading into the second round.
