BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Freshman Brittany Siechen is tied for eighth place after the first round of the BGSU Falcon Invitational. The rookie carded a 9-over-par 81 and sits just six strokes off the lead.
Siechen landed in the top 10 in her last event, marking the third time this season she has accomplished the feat. She led the Purple Eagles to one of their best days of competition in their first season of action. NU's 4-player total of 416 is 11th out of 11 teams, but just 23 strokes behind 10th place.
Junior Ona Peck recorded a 98 and sits in 60th place, while freshman Megan Bruso tallied a 118. Playing in just her second career event, freshman hockey standout Jenna Hendrikx finished fourth for NU, carding a career-best 119. Freshman Katie Hamilton recorded a 125.
The Purple Eagles will complete the BGSU Falcon Invitational on Sunday.
