Swimming and Diving Falls at St.Bonaventure

OLEAN, N.Y. - The Niagara swimming and diving teams fell in their final regular-season meet of the year to St.Bonaventure, with the men losing 177-65 and the women's losing 177-58.

The men's team (4-3) had a strong diving performance from sophomore Ian O'Rourke (Grand Island, N.Y.) finished first in the one-meter diving event, scoring a 291.23. Freshman Lukas Shumway (Sanborn, N.Y.) finished second for the Purple Eagles in the 100 yard breaststroke event, clocking in at 1:01.63, just a second behind the winner.

The women's team (2-6) also saw some strong diving performances from freshmen Ashley Jones (Lockport, N.Y.) and Laura Sadler (Des Plaines, Ill.). Jones won the one-meter diving event with a score of 209.70. Sadler finished second in both the one-meter and three-meter events, scoring a 191.78 and 178.58, respectively.

The Purple Eagles are back in action at the MAAC Championships, starting on Feb. 12 in Baltimore, Maryland.
