NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara volleyball team (20-7, 13-3 MAAC) broke a 16-year old school record with its 20th win of the season on Saturday at Marist (15-11, 9-6 MAAC). The Purple Eagles dropped the first set, but won three straight to make history, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

"We have learned to find ways to win, even when we are not as sharp as we would like," Niagara head coach Susan Clements said. "To pick up another road win against a top team in our conference, as well as set the school record for wins, is special."

Niagara pounded out 59 kills in the four-set victory, attacking at a .241 percentage. Three Purple Eagles collected double-digit kills, and three student-athletes chipped in with double-doubles.

Michelle James (Cincinnati, Ohio) assisted on 53 of the team's 59 kills, while adding 10 digs for her double-double. Classmate Hannah Hedrick (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded 16 kills and 13 digs, as the outside hitter was one of four players with double-figure dig totals in the win.

Sam Morgan (Cincinnati, Ohio) continued her streak with a match-high 16 digs. She now has double-digit digs in all 57 career matches, ranking second in the nation.

Freshman Kari Honomichl (Petersburg, Mich.) totaled a match-best 17 kills, while adding 10 digs. Sophomore Kathy Bibler (Bowling Green, Ohio) also chipped in with 10 kills.

The Purple Eagles play their final road non-conference match of the season on live television on Sunday. Niagara's 2 p.m. start at Siena can be seen on Time Warner Cable Buffalo (channel 13) and Time Warner Cable Albany (channel 3). Fans out of the Buffalo & Albany regions can tune in by clicking here.
