LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Niagara volleyball team (12-6, 5-2 MAAC) swept Rider on Saturday to earn its third-straight victory. The Purple Eagles attacked at a .223 clip, committing just five errors in the final two sets combined, winning by a score of 28-26, 25-19, 25-22.
Sophomore Hannah Hedrick (Cincinnati, Ohio) continued her recent dominance with 21 kills to just two errors and a .452 attack percentage. She narrowly missed her 15th double-double of the season by collecting nine digs in the win.
"We fought hard (Saturday) against distractions and a hostile crowd," Niagara head coach Susan Clements said. "It was a test of our mental game and we were able to focus and come up with the victory."
Sophomore setter Michelle James (Cincinnati, Ohio) added 34 assists in the win, while sophomore libero Sam Morgan (Cincinnati, Ohio) had a match-high 21 digs. Freshman Kari Honomichl (Petersburg, Mich.) chipped in with 13 kills.
The Purple Eagles take on Loyola on Sunday at noon.
