LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Niagara volleyball team (3-12, 1-3 MAAC) fell in four sets at Rider (8-6, 1-3 MAAC) on Sunday, settling for a weekend conference split. The Purple Eagles won the first set, but lost the next three, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.
"Our passing was very inconsistent (Sunday)," head coach Susan Clements said. "We were not able to capitilize on their mistakes and we allowed them to dictate the match."
Freshman Kathy Bibler (Bowling Green, Ohio) led three Purple Eagles with double-digit kills. The middle blocker collected 16 kills, while classmates Hannah Hedrick (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Holly Allgeier (Louisville, Ky.) each had 13.
Michelle James (Cincinnati, Ohio) handed out 42 assists while adding six kills and eight digs. Hedrick completed her double-double with a team-high 18 digs, which adding a career-high five blocks. Sam Morgan (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Rebecca Suchy (Lancaster, N.Y.) contributed 14 digs, apiece.
Niagara travels to Fairfield and Saint Peter's next weekend for a pair of conference matchups.
