NIAGARA UN, N.Y. – The baseball team (1-6) has solidified its spring break plans by announcing schedule additions. The Purple Eagles have added three opponents after having their last two series cancelled due to weather conditions.
Niagara will play eight games in eight days, starting Sunday, March 11. The Purple Eagles face Virginia Wesleyan College in a doubleheader with the first game slated for a noon start. The game with No. 4 Virginia is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start, Tuesday, March 13.
Niagara head coach Chris Chernisky picked up a game with the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, March 14, at 2:30 p.m.
The Purple Eagles’ three-game series with UMBC is on schedule for March 16-18. There is a tentative game scheduled with Coppin State at Joe Cannon Stadium, Saturday, March 17, at 5 p.m. following the game with UMBC.
