After winning its second NCAA Tournament game in school history Tuesday, 16th-seeded Niagara University (23-11 overall, 13-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) takes on No. 2 ranked and No. 1 seed University of Kansas (30-4 overall, 14-2 Big 12 Conference) Friday at 7:10 p.m. in the United Center in Chicago, Ill. The game will be broadcast live on CBS with Jim Nantz (play-by-play) and Billy Packer (analyst) announcing the game and Bob Dekas reporting from the sidelines.
The Purple Eagles earned their No. 16 seed with a 77-69 Opening Round victory over Florida A&M Tuesday at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio.
Kansas enters the game as champions of the Big 12 Conference. The Jayhawks beat No. 15/14 Texas, 88-84 in overtime, on March 11.
Should Niagara advance to second-round play, it will face the winner of No. 8 seed Kentucky or No. 9 Villanova Sunday.
