Niagara Takes on Florida A&M Tuesday

Making its third NCAA Tournament appearance, second in the last three years and second under ninth-year head coach Joe Mihalich, Niagara University (22-11 overall, 13-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) enters Tuesday’s Opening Round game against Florida A&M (21-13 overall, 12-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) in the West Regional. The contest, which will be played at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio, starts at 7:30 ET live on ESPN.

Should Niagara advance to first-round play, Niagara will face the No. 2-ranked University of Kansas (No. 1 seed) Friday in Chicago at the United Center. The Jayhawks sport a 30-4 record and a Big 12 Conference mark of 14-2. No. 8 seed Kentucky and No. 9 Villanova are on the other half of the bracket.

All of Niagara’s NCAA Tournament games will air live on WJJL 1440 and on the Niagara University’s official athletic website at www.PurpleEagles.com. Todd Callen (play-by-play) and Sean Schiano (analyst) will have the call from courtside. Tuesday’s game will be televised nationally by ESPN. Terry Gannon (play-by-play) and Steve Lavin (analyst) will announce, and Erin Andrews will be on the sidelines.
