NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The volleyball team (7-18, 5-11 MAAC) dropped its home finale, Sunday, to Siena College (20-6, 15-1 MAAC), 30-18, 30-14, 30-19.
The Saints, who came into the Gallagher center with the best record in the MAAC, attacked at a .448 clip, including .588 in the third set with 23 kills. Four Saints produced double-digit kill totals in the win.
"We did not pass well at all today," head coach Susan Clements said. "That really caused us to struggle offensively because we weren't able to get anything going. They always fight hard, but we weren't able to pass and serve well today."
Senior Maurin Lawrence (Corfu, N.Y.) had eight kills while classmate Raelean Rush (Amherst, N.Y.) totaled seven in the loss. Senior Mallory Boron (Lockport, N.Y.) had 26 assists.
"We are going to focus on the positive, though," Clements added. "We finished the weekend 1-1 for the second-straight week, and we are going to keep improving and try to end the season with two more wins."
The Purple Eagles hit the road next weekend when they face Manhattan and Saint Peter's.
