POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The volleyball team (4-13, 2-6 MAAC) dropped a straight-set match to Marist (7-13, 3-5 MAAC) on Sunday, 30-25, 30-20, 30-27. Two Purple Eagles recorded double-digit kills in the loss.

Junior Nicole Piette (Lockport, N.Y.) led the Purple Eagles with 12 kills while attacking at .125. Senior Maurin Lawrence (Corfu, N.Y.) had 10 kills and hit .273 in the loss.

Senior Raelean Rush (Amherst, N.Y.) failed to record a double-double in her first conference game this season. She had equaled that feat in the previous seven MAAC contests.

Senior Mallory Boron (Lockport, N.Y.) had 31 assists, seven digs and a pair of kills and blocks for Niagara.

The Purple Eagles will play a home-and-home series with cross-town rival Canisius next week. The Golden Griffins host Niagara, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m., followed by an Oct. 14 match inside the Gallagher Center at 2 p.m.
