LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The volleyball team (6-15, 4-9 MAAC) swept through Lawrenceville, N.J. and Rider University (2-21, 0-13 MAAC) Saturday, 30-12, 30-25, 30-14. Senior Maurin Lawrence (Corfu, N.Y.) recorded 13 kills while attacking at a .476 clip.
Freshman Shannon Ryan (Fairport, N.Y.) had nine kills, helping the Purple Eagles pound out 40 kills to just 11 errors. Senior Mallory Boron (Lockport, N.Y.) paced the offense with 29 assists, while picking up 12 digs.
Every Purple Eagle attacker recorded at least five kills in the win. Senior Raelean Rush (Amherst, N.Y.) had six kills and 12 digs, while Lindsay Kriger (Yorkton, Sask.) and Nicole Piette (Lockport, N.Y.) each had five kills.
Senior Sara Mancini (Lancaster, N.Y.) was second on the squad with 11 digs.
The Purple Eagles face Loyola in a MAAC road contest, Sunday at 2 p.m.
