FAIRFIELD, CONN. – Junior Raelean Rush (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home) had a team-best nine kills as the Niagara University volleyball team (2-10, 0-5) lost in three games, 30-22, 30-13, and 30-15 to Fairfield University (7-6, 4-0) Saturday night in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
Senior Annie Wachob (Buffalo, N.Y./Mount St. Mary’s) had six kills and hit a team-leading .211. Junior Sara Mancini (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) had a match-best 18 digs."
"We learned a lot from an experience team that plays experienced teams," Niagara head coach Rocco Lucci said. "We need to win again to get the momentum moving."
Fairfield, which hit .370 for the match, was led by Lindsey Lee with 12 kills and Jazmin Pa’akaula with 11.
Niagara returns to action Sunday at 2 p.m. when it plays at Saint Peter’s.
