   NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. -- After waiting eight months for another season, Niagara University is ready to start its 33rd campaign when it hosts in-state rival Colgate University Friday at 7 p.m. in the legendary Taps Gallagher Center.

   Friday’s game is the season opener for both teams. Niagara looks to win its fourth consecutive home opener and  its first season opener since the 1999-00 season.

   Colgate is 11-22 in season openers after losing last season at Vermont. The Raiders sport a 5-14 record in road season openers.

   Friday’s game is the 35th meeting between the two teams.
