NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- The Niagara University men’s basketball team (0-2) concludes its three-game homestand to open the season when it hosts the University of Akron (2-1) Saturday at 7 p.m. in the legendary Taps Gallagher Center.

The Purple Eagles lost their last outing, 70-58 to Valparaiso on Nov. 18 while Akron enters the game on a two-game winning streak after beating Tiffin, 97-35 on Nov. 19.

Saturday’s game is the seventh meeting between the two teams, and the series is tied at 3-3.
