Stephanie Hopkins (Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) combined for 25 kills in two matches, but it wasn’t enough as the Niagara University volleyball team (5-5) lost its last two matches Saturday at the 2005 Medical Mutual CSU Invitational at Cleveland State.
In the first match, the Purple Eagles lost to the host Vikings, 30-15, 30-17 and 30-21. In the second match, they fell to Binghamton 30-20, 30-23, 26-30, 25-30 and 15-11.
Hopkins and senior Erin Graham (Oakville, N.Y.) each had eight kills against Cleveland State. Hopkins added 10 digs and junior Jessica Piscitelli (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) had 10 digs and 13 assists.
Against Binghamton, Hopkins had a team-high 17 kills while senior Micole Daluisio (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) added 30 digs and classmate Jennifer Hansford (Stratford, Ont.) had 33 assists.
