Purple Eagles Travel to Iona, Rider This Weekend

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. -- The Niagara University women’s basketball team (12-9, 7-5) looks to snap a three-game losing streak this weekend when it plays at Iona College (4-17, 2-10) Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Mulcahy Center and at Rider University (7-13, 5-6) Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Purple Eagles are in fourth place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference behind Marist (9-3), Canisius (9-3) and Siena (7-4).

Niagara stumbled for the fifth game in its last six outings with a heartbreaking 66-64 loss at Siena on Feb. 5.

Iona enters the game on a winning note after snapping a 10-game losing streak with a 74-53 victory over Manhattan Feb. 6.

Rider has won three-straight games, including a 75-69 victory at Saint Peter’s on Feb. 5.

Niagara’s game vs. Rider will be televised live on Adelphia Cable Channel 13 in Niagara and Erie counties, and on Channel 9 in Olean.
