NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. -- The Niagara University women’s basketball team (1-9) looks to ring in the New Year with a win when travels to Burlington, Vt., to take on the University of Vermont (3-6) Saturday at 1 p.m. in Patrick Gym.
The Purple Eagles, who conclude their six-game road swing and their non-conference schedule, will try to end a seven-game losing streak and win their second contest of the season. Niagara lost its most recent outing at Colgate, 75-49, Dec. 28.
The Catamounts have lost their last two games, both to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference teams. They lost at Fairfield, 83-80, in overtime Dec. 17, and 77-63 at Siena Dec. 22.
Saturday’s game is the fourth meeting between the two teams.
