BOSTON – Three Purple Eagles scored in double figures but the Niagara University women’s basketball team (1-8) still dropped a 101-49 non-conference game to No. 25/23 Boston College (10-2) Wednesday night in the Conte Forum.
Senior Danie Mosca (Baltimore, Md.) and juniors Toni Smalley (Thornville, Ohio) and Jessi Tomasin (Hamilton, Ont.) each scored 11 points for Niagara. For Mosca, the double-figure outing was a career high. Tomasin was 3 of 5 from three-point range while Mosca was 2 for 2.
Niagara trailed from the tip off. Boston College shot 25 of 32 (78.1 percent) in the first half and had a 55-21 lead at the break.
The Purple Eagles return to action Dec. 28 when they travel to Hamilton, N.Y., to take on Colgate University at 7 p.m. at Cotterell Court.
