NIAGARA UN., N.Y. --  Riding a three-game winning streak, the Niagara University men’s basketball team (12-6, 7-3) begins a three-game home stand Sunday when it hosts Loyola College (3-15, 2-7) at 3 p.m. in the legendary Taps Gallagher Center.

The Purple Eagles remained in the hunt for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season title when they snapped a three-game road losing streak Thursday with a 74-59 victory at Siena. Senior Juan Mendez had 25 points and 16 rebounds and classmate David Brooks tallied 23 points and sank seven three-pointers.

Loyola looks to snap a four-game losing streak and win its first road game of the season Sunday.

The Greyhounds dropped their seventh MAAC game of the year when they lost to Saint Peter’s, 86-66, Thursday.

The contest can be heard live on the Niagara Athletic Department’s official web site at www.PurpleEagles.com.
