NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. -- Riding a four-game winning streak and sporting an undefeated record in the legendary Gallagher Center, the Niagara University women’s basketball team (9-4, 4-0) begins a three-game home stand when it hosts Fairfield (4-8, 2-1) Friday at 11:30 a.m. and Iona (3-9, 1-2) Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Purple Eagles are currently in first place in the MAAC after winning a pair of league road games last week. Niagara defeated Saint Peter’s, 74-64, and Manhattan, 59-54.

Sophomore Shaunna Ambrose led Niagara in scoring both games with 25 points vs. the Peahens and a career-high 31 points against the Lady Jaspers.

Fairfield had a two-game winning streak snapped with a 75-72 loss at Rider Monday.

Iona looks to snap a three-game losing streak after falling to Marist Monday, 62-49.
